I take clients on a first-come-first-served basis. You may contact me for a wait time estimate. If you have a project with a deadline, please reach out to see if I can accommodate a rush order (this may incur a rush fee).
While I work diligently to meet timelines, I can not guarantee a completion date for any project. Most blog/web design projects can be completed in 4-6 weeks. This usually depends on the speed of the client’s feedback and the number of revisions required. If you have a project deadline, please let me know up front or as soon as possible.
Each client is emailed a quote detailing the work that will be done. The client must acknowledge acceptance of this quote via email before the work begins. This acknowledgement includes an acceptance of the legal nature of our contract. Any work requested outside of the original scope of the quote will be billed as additional costs.
Blog and web site designs include up to 3 revisions. After you review the first mockup, you will be asked to submit specific feedback. You should include all changes that you want made. If the first mockup is completely unacceptable, a second mockup will be created based on your feedback. The same process would be used for a third mockup. Providing specific changes and examples will be necessary in order for the design to progress. Additional mockups or revisions can be completed for an additional fee.
All images will be delivered as .jpeg/.png files. Original vectored (Adobe Illustrator) files can be provided for an additional fee.
I will be communicating with you often during the design process and I will need specific feedback and your approval to continue the work. This communication will happen primarily via email, although phone calls can be arranged if necessary. Responding to my questions in a timely manner will allow your design to progress.
Regular communication is critical to the design of your project and those in line behind you. Failure to communicate about the design process for a period of 72 hours (whether expectedly or unexpectedly), will result in your project being placed on hold and moved to the end of my current queue. If the design schedule allows, you may pay an additional 25% of the current cost of the project to reschedule at the top of the waiting list.
Should you fail to provide necessary files or pieces of information within 15 days of the date requested, all payments will be forfeited to Sharon Hujik Design and the project will be cancelled without notice.
All blog and web design projects require a 50% deposit. This deposit is non-refundable unless I must cancel work on the project. PayPal (direct payment or credit card payment) or payment by mail (check, cashier’s check, or money order) are accepted. You do not need to have a PayPal account in order to pay by credit card. Your project will be placed in queue after the deposit has been received and cleared.
The remaining 50% balance from your quote is due when the project is launched. If final payment for the project is not received within 7 days of the project launch, I reserve the right to remove the work product from your website until payment is received.
If there have been additional design or technical work that was not included in the original quote, you will receive an invoice for it either at the time the extra work is agreed to or at the project launch. After the balance has been paid in full, the files will be delivered in the agreed-upon format(s).
Projects other than blog/web design (printables, logo creation, etc.) also require full payment prior to the start of the project.
Projects that are canceled at least 30 days prior to the start date may be rescheduled at the end of our queue. Cancellations made less than 30 days from the project start date result in full loss of deposit and may be rescheduled only with payment of another deposit.
Due to the custom nature of my work, Sharon Hujik Design does not issue refunds for any reason. Please note my cancellation policy (above) for information about canceling your project.
Copyright & Credit
The copyright for your site is transferred to you upon delivery. The site design must be kept intact and not altered after installation. If you want to make changes to your design after installation, please contact me. Another designer may not make changes to the custom theme design without express permission from Sharon Hujik Design. If you choose to remove any portion of the design, you must remove the complete design and use a new WordPress theme. You may not continue to use a premium theme provided as part of my design.
You may provide your own photos or stock images for use in your design. If you choose stock images, you are responsible for compliance with license/photography copyrights. Sharon Hujik Design is not liable for photos or design elements you provide.
The Sharon Hujik Design credit must be kept in the footer as long as you are using the design.
Usernames & Passwords
You are responsible for supplying your usernames and passwords for WordPress access, FTP access, hosting (if necessary), and domain name registration (if necessary). We will protect all usernames and passwords. You should change your passwords after the design process is completed.
Our blog and web designs are created to be compatible with the most recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Designs will be viewable in Internet Explorer, but – due to the quirky nature of Internet Explorer – there may be slight variations in how they display.
Your blog/web design and/or graphics may be used in my online portfolio.
